The Cost Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate operational cost and profitability reporting and analysis to support organizational leadership decision-making. This role updates and maintains general ledger and statistical-based data sets, updates and maintains charge code level costing data sets, creates reports and performs analysis on patient populations utilizing cost accounting data, and demonstrates proficiency with organizational informational systems while ensuring data integrity and compliance with sound cost accounting principles. Operating at a associate individual contributor capacity, the position supports the entire health system and directly impacts financial reporting accuracy, cost management, and profitability insights. The role collaborates closely with finance, decision support, and operational leadership teams, exercising independent judgment on cost allocation methodologies and data analysis. This position reports to the Director of Decision Support.
