About The Position

The Analyst Data Governance will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks and practices to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of the sphere's data assets. This position will collaborate with various stakeholders to promote effective data management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related domain.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, Python or other programming languages.
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Alation) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proven experience developing data governance processes in complex organizations-especially where no prior framework existed.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, metadata, master data, and data lineage.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent data management practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments of data quality and integrity, identifying issues and recommending improvements.
  • Partner with data stewards and Sphere revenue teams to facilitate adherence to data governance practices and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries, metadata, and governance frameworks.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data governance policies, tools, and best practices.
  • Assist in the creation and management of a data catalog to enhance data discoverability and usability.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
