About The Position

The Intermediate Analyst – Laboratory IS Outreach Systems role supports the technology platforms that enable IU Health Pathology Laboratory to serve external outreach clients, including regional hospital systems, clinics, and physician offices. This role focuses on application support, system integrations, and interface implementations that ensure reliable laboratory operations and seamless client connectivity. This analyst will support a variety of Outreach systems, including ClockwiseMD, Lifepoint, Outreach Operations, and multiple EMR‑to‑LIS and LIS‑to‑LIS interfaces. This position blends production support with project‑based work and plays a key role in implementing, validating, and maintaining clinical interfaces that directly impact patient care and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting healthcare information systems or laboratory applications.
  • Working knowledge of HL7 for interface configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Ability to balance production support responsibilities with project‑based work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or clinical interfaces.
  • Prior experience working with external clients or outreach programs in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with interface engines, validation workflows, or healthcare interoperability concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day support for Outreach systems and reference laboratory interfaces to ensure stable, efficient operations.
  • Participate in break/fix troubleshooting, system maintenance, and scheduled support rotations.
  • Serve as part of an on‑call rotation to support non‑business hours operations.
  • Assist with the implementation, validation, and support of new Outreach client interfaces.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot HL7‑based interfaces to support laboratory workflows.
  • Maintain and upgrade Outreach system hardware and software to meet operational and client needs.
  • Provide application and limited hardware support to internal users and external Outreach clients.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to resolve issues and support system adoption.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors during implementations and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to Outreach‑related projects, including new client onboarding, system enhancements, and interface improvements.
  • Support documentation, testing, and validation efforts associated with new systems or changes.
