About The Position

This position, an Analyst, Application Development Associate, operates under direct supervision to design, code or configure, test, debug, deploy, document, and maintain programs using various software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications, and other tools, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards. The associate assists in gathering business requirements, translating them into detailed technical specifications for program development or configuration, and validating that proposed applications align with architectural design and business needs. The role also involves assisting with process leadership for work groups, product/service delivery strategy, and work plans. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and issue analysis, as well as coding, testing, and implementing software enhancements and/or applying patches. The associate will work with more senior team members to research and prepare program specifications, and then design, develop, and implement customer-focused programming solutions. Opportunities are provided to expand skills by learning from experienced Application Development Analysts, including understanding risk assessment, process leadership, product/service delivery, and troubleshooting support for product, implementation, and functionality issues.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent
• Less than 2 years experience in related field

Responsibilities

• Design, code or configure, test, debug, deploy, document and maintain programs using a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications and other tools, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards.
• Assist in gathering business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured, and validating that the proposed applications align with the architectural design and with the business needs.
• Assist in process leadership for work groups, and product/service delivery strategy and work plans.
• Assist with troubleshooting and issue analysis, as well as coding, testing and implementing software enhancements and/or applying patches.
• Assist in analyzing and compiling the customer’s business requirements.
• Work with more senior team members in researching and preparing program specifications, and then with the design, development (including coding/configuring, testing, debugging and documenting) and implementation of those requirements into customer-focused programming solutions that adhere to the development policies and standards, and align with the Information Services architectural design and customer’s business needs.
• Assist with coding, testing and implementation of software enhancements and/or applying patches and other maintenance of existing applications, and help with the preparation of the appropriate documentation to record the modifications.
• Make opportunities to expand skills by learning from more experienced Application Development Analysts.
• Gain knowledge from team members on how to: drive risk assessment by developing, implementing and evaluating system design, strategies, specifications and models.
• Gain knowledge from team members on how to: provide process leadership for work groups.
• Gain knowledge from team members on how to: help in product/service delivery strategy and work plans.
