About The Position

The employee supports the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the AN/SPQ-9B radar in the areas of technical support, field change installations, performance evaluation, training, technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and underway testing, and aids fleet units in maintenance and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
  • Practical experience in maintenance, repair, technical documentation, parts procurement, testing and operation of Navy radar systems
  • Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting the SPQ-9B radar
  • Practical experience with training, preventative maintenance, use of technical documentation, parts support, technical reports, and documenting maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Experience in underway test and evaluation of Navy radar systems
  • Familiar with shipboard safety procedures, including electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Working knowledge of Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Familiar with Navy Logistics Support elements, including configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support
  • High-quality interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Personal computer skills (competent with MS Office applications).

  • Familiar with the US Navy installation planning process (desired)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the ISEA’s Subject Matter Expert for the radar as part of direct fleet support responsibility will document results of maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution actions accomplished while onboard.
  • Provide distance support troubleshooting for fleet CASREPs and requests for technical assistance.
  • Support engineering efforts related to the design, testing, and analysis of AN/SPQ-9B radar upgrades or modifications
  • Support technical documentation upgrades or modifications required as a result of system improvements
  • Assist in the development of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Alteration Records (SAR), which reflect system installation plans and configurations
  • Act as liaison with Regional Maintenance Centers to ensure proper processing of installation data and schedule requirements necessary for the unimpeded check-in processing of Alteration Installation Teams (AITs)
  • Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) for ship’s force
