About The Position

The Supply Planner is responsible for balancing production capacity, inventory, and customer demand for liquid and gaseous industrial gases (including, but not limited to, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and CO₂). Expected to maintain a 24-month rolling supply plan. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective supply across production plants, bulk storage, pipelines, and distribution networks while maintaining service levels and regulatory compliance. The Supply Planner works cross-functionally with demand, production, logistics, distribution, and supply chain planning to develop executable supply plans that optimize asset utilization and support business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or operations planning
  • Experience in process manufacturing (industrial gases, chemicals, energy, or related industries preferred)
  • Perficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Solid understanding of S&OP / IBP processes, demand and supply planning
  • Experience in inventory balancing
  • Must possess outstanding written and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Google applications & Smartsheets
  • Able to save and maintain electronic files
  • Ability to operate custom supply chain software (ALTO, Plant Information)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to analyze demand, supply and inventory needs.
  • Ability to understand analysis methods based on statistics such as standard deviation, best fit analysis, control charts and scatter gram analysis.
  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • CPIM, CSCP or PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Power BI preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supply Planning & Optimization Develop and maintain short- and mid-term supply plans for liquid and gaseous products across multiple production sources.
  • Balance demand forecasts, production constraints, inventory targets, and transportation capacity.
  • Optimize production sequencing and sourcing decisions to minimize cost, losses, and inefficiencies.
  • Manage inventory strategies.
  • Production & Asset Coordination Collaborate with plant operations to understand: Capacity limits Planned/unplanned outages Maintenance schedules Adjust supply plans in response to equipment downtime, weather events, and demand volatility.
  • Support contingency planning and supply risk mitigation.
  • Distribution & Logistics Alignment Coordinate with distribution and logistics teams to align: Bulk truck and railcar delivery capacity Inter-plant transfers Pipeline supply where applicable Support optimization of distribution routes and replenishment cycles.
  • Performance & Analytics Monitor and report on key KPIs, including: Service levels Inventory turns Plant utilization Supply cost and losses Purity targets & production attainment Identify root causes of supply disruptions and lead corrective actions between production, supply chain and demand planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning effectiveness.
  • Systems & Process Maintain accurate planning data.
  • Participate in S&OP processes, providing supply scenarios and capacity insights.
  • Document planning assumptions, risks, and constraints.
