About The Position

GSKWR is accepting applications for AmeriCorps Vista members as part of the Building the Bridge to K-12 Leadership in 8 Kentucky Counties: Letcher/Knott counties. As a Vista Community Organizer, you will connect and partner with schools, colleges, universities, libraries, businesses, and community organizations to build the volunteer infrastructure and capactiy needed to deliver and sustain Girl Scout programs. Benefits of becoming an Americorps Vista: A modest living stipend of $24,000 slightly higher for Vista Leads - Paid bi-weekly Either an education award of $6,895 to put toward student loans or future tuition OR a $1,800 (pre-tax) end-of-year cash stipend Health Insurance benefits Mileage reimbursement at $.60 per mile Relocation reimbursement of $750 for members relocating more than 50 miles to their service site Loan forbearance or deferment for qualified student loans 10 personal & 10 sick days Childcare benefits 1-year of non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs Professional development, networking, and community engagement opportunities Valuable work and life skills The change to make a substantial difference in our Kentucky communities!

Requirements

  • Be a US citizen, national, or hold legal permanent status
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Willingness to serve full-time for a year
  • Live in one of the counties that you serve
  • Posess an education or life skills that will help you be successful in your placement
  • a passion for giving back!
