The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County will have 39 AmeriCorps Members who will provide out-of-school education support, mentoring, service-learning activities, pre-college and college enrollment services to 300 high school age youth at 13 Clubs, impacting 1,000 youth across Palm Beach County, Florida. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps Members will be responsible for services that assisted with increased school attendance, on-time grade progression and graduation, increased youth developmental assets, prepared high school age youth for post-secondary education, and enrolled high school seniors in college. The program focuses on the CNCS focus area(s) of K-12 Education and Out-of-school Time Service Learning. Members will also be involved in direct service activities throughout the year that may include food distribution efforts or Disaster relief efforts. The Great Futures AmeriCorps Program (GFAP) responds with a powerful intervention model placing 39 AmeriCorps members across 13 Boys & Girls Club sites to support 300 youth (grades 6-12) with mentoring, tutoring, career development, and service-learning experiences.
