About The Position
Penn State Harrisburg's Communication Sciences and Disorders Program has a part-time opening to teach our American Sign Language (ASL) classes (ASL I, ASL II) as well as potentially other courses related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. Candidates should apply online and submit a curriculum vitae (CV)/resume and a letter of application indicating certifications and teaching experience. Requirements
- Master’s degree in ASL or a related field.
- Strong foundation in ASL proficiency.
- Knowledge of Deaf culture.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience at the university level.
- Certification from American Sign Language Teacher’s Association (ASLTA), Registry for Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or related agency.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses related to ASL and/or Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing individuals.
