Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse (RN) in the examination and treatment of patients to facilitate clinic flow and provide excellent patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and policies; communicates observations to members of the health care team. The role provides support to facilitate safe, quality patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider, consistent with clinical policies, procedures and department standard work. This may include serving as a chaperone, providing input in the development of an individualized plan of care, identifying health maintenance gaps for patients, and notifying patients of existing gaps. The tech will document in the electronic health record accurately and timely, actively participate in safety initiatives, collect patient reported medication history, allergies, risk screenings, and medical history, and report this information to the RN or Provider. They will also collect and report vital signs, collect samples (urine, stool), perform minor testing (Point of care tests, Electrocardiogram), assist with stocking supplies, clean patient's environment/work area/equipment, and communicate equipment malfunctions. Additionally, the role involves performing and documenting results of required clinical logs and CLIA waived laboratory tests, including routine quality control procedures, maintaining temperature logs and eyewash stations. The individual is expected to demonstrate high moral and ethical behavior, commit to continuous improvement of the patient experience, advocate for privacy and confidentiality, and adhere to organizational values, standards, and policies.
