About The Position

Greet and direct patients, visitors and vendors in a warm, welcoming professional manner. The Care Concierge will assist patients as they navigate the building as well as facilitate patient navigation to various individuals and services as part of the interdisciplinary care team. They will have responsibility for the overall effective, friendly, and efficient functioning of the daily operations in the lobby/reception area. Will participate in improvement initiatives with the ultimate goal of exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, college preferred; must be able to read and write English.
  • Proficient computer skills –including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and strong aptitude for learning new software systems (e.g. Readiness Rounds, Epic).
  • Previous customer service experience interacting with diverse public required.
  • Mandatory in-service training as needed.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Maintain composure and professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Always exhibits positive team-orientated behavior with all staff, especially valet, security, transport and volunteers.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, adapt to new situations/procedures and multi-task.
  • Strong organization skills/attention to detail.
  • High energy level.
  • Able to detect and greet all who arrive as they enter lobby.
  • Able to exchange accurate information.
  • Able to move throughout the building.
  • Able to remain in stationary position majority of time.
  • Able to operate computer and other office machinery.
  • Able to operate wheelchair and transport patient if needed.
  • Must practice patience, tact and caring nature always.
  • Flu vaccination required

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual- Spanish- highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Greets and directs patients, visitors, vendors and staff in a warm, upbeat, friendly, professional manner.
  • Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Evaluates ongoing situations, keeps Security and Department Director and Manager informed of issues.
  • Coordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the building.
  • Oversees volunteer scheduling and maintains positive work interactions with all staff and volunteers.
  • Accesses accurate patient and procedural information utilizing various technology modes.
  • Answers phone.
  • Follows appropriate lobby procedures/processes-e.g. visitation policy, medical records requests, redirection to ED.
  • Assists in performing temperature checks to those entering building.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
