About The Position

Position Summary: This position requires a personable , guest-focused AM Server who greets guests, t ake s orders and deliver s food and beverages to guests in a timely manner while uphold ing the hotel’s standards of cleanliness and hospitality . The AM Server is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and efficient breakfast service to hotel guests and visitors. This role ensures guests have a positive dining experience at the start of their day by delivering high-quality service. As a professional Server, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

  • Must be able to work holidays, nights, and weekend
  • Must have one or more of the following: Minimum of 1-2 years serving experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • San Diego County Food Handlers Card (must be turned in within 30 days of employment).
  • Anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class.
  • RBS – Responsible Alcohol Service (must be turned in when training concludes)
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for up to 8 hours at a time .
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly .
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and climb.
  • Must be able to push and pull

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival , escorts to table, and guide them through the breakfast offerings and menu.
  • Work closely with BOH team and other hotel staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Working knowledge of current and seasonal beverage and food menus.
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request.
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate.
  • Take guest food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff.
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring all items meet presentation and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
  • Follow opening checklists to set up the restaurant for morning service, including prepping tables, coffee stations, and condiments.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of orders.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Process guest checks accurately, handling cash and credit transactions through the POS system.
  • Ensure all opening and closing side work is completed each shift.
  • Uphold all standards for cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, health regulations, and safety standards.
  • Greet each guest with a good attitude and a smile.
