About The Position

Who we are looking for As a Alpha Operations Officer, the candidate will support the day to day operational tasks of the Investment Operations Team. Responsibilities include collaborating with multiple sub teams within Alpha Operations including but not limited to, Information Delivery, Cash Administration, Account Services, Transaction Management, Front Office Support and Front Office Data Control. All working towards the health of portfolios for trading, reporting and performance. The candidate will monitor assigned accounts for issues associated with cash, settlements, ad-hoc processing, and client reporting and perform pre/post cycle reviews while working closely across the larger team in order to support client queries. Additional opportunities available to contribute towards the improvement of existing processes, bring ideas to the team and provide analytical support in any change request on-boarding as it pertains to our BAU operating model. You will be expected to work with reduced oversight to identify exceptions and escalate issues once appropriate research has been completed. This person must have an excellent track record, be a strong decisive results-oriented individual who can develop and manage relationships across the company, with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and knowledge. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent or relevant industry experience.
  • 6-10 years of Middle Office and/or equivalent work.
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of the asset management industry, gained through working in a variety of asset management disciplines, including detailed knowledge on all types of financial instruments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to collaborate with different teams and presentation skills to audiences (internal and external) of different sizes and levels of seniority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Work independently and collaboratively to research and resolve problems.
  • Focus on performing complex tasks and providing business and technical expertise to support our client.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to analyze on the spot.
  • Handles regular independent interaction with client contacts.
  • Must be deadline oriented, adaptable and show initiative in different circumstances and under pressure.
  • Act as an advisor to other areas of the organization.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Strong client service skills (an advantage).

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent technical skills in Excel such as Pivot tables and building macros (an advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Review accounts for issues associated with Portfolio Health, monitor for potential risk and investigate issues raised.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze diagnose design and implement solutions for complex clients.
  • Liaise with colleagues within the US, EMEA, APAC and India SSC offices and divisions globally, where required, for query resolution.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client queries relating to the Recordkeeping system, client file deliveries and transactions tracked with proactive management to ensure timely response considering multiple avenues for resolution.
  • Perform key Recordkeeping system functions.
  • Review of various control reports such as reconciliation, material breaks and others to ensure the health of client’s portfolios are maintained.
  • Perform an overview function for the Shared Services functions identifying operational trends issues and areas for improvement.
  • Perform work independently within scope of established guidelines and according to specific procedures and analyzes and recommends solutions to complex and non-routine issues and special projects.
  • Interact with all IMS Teams (Transaction Management, Corporate Actions, Income, Cash Flow, etc.).
  • Handle and resolve issues involving all operational and various IT areas (Asset servicing, Trader Support and Client Reporting).
  • Remain familiar with back-up procedures when system applications and/or transmission problems arise.
  • Support and provide analysis for Client Change Request items impacting the Enterprise processes and Operating Models.
  • Take ownership of issues to resolution, engage teams as needed to gain consensus and communicate progress.
  • Manage and train junior staff
