About The Position

The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their functional engineering discipline. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning assignment and then a sound intellectual and/or financial return for the PCC organization. This position involves working with outside material processing vendors and collecting data to help streamline our material processing operations and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, & Microsoft Office
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
  • Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations, such as equipment and facilities design and improvement.
  • Accomplish performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility in facilities engineering throughout his/her co-op experience.
  • Identify and recommend equipment improvements for specified projects.
  • Attend regular departmental meeting.
  • Attend training sessions, symposiums and other appropriate educational opportunities.
  • Perform or review procedures and documentation for existing tasks.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
  • Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new equipment or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new equipment development, upgrades, and energy conservation opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Co-ops will be paid $25hour /40-hours a week.
  • Given top priority for future co-op rotations and full-time positions.
