Job Summary: Performs specific rehabilitation procedures (direct patient care) under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist or therapy assistant. Provides support functions; maintains rehabilitation's supply inventory throughout the inpatient service or performing clerical duties and enhances the smooth operation of the service (indirect patient care). Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Assists therapists with direct patient care as needed by turning, positioning, transferring or ambulating select patients. Orders Durable Medical Equipment (DME) from vendors. Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks as directed, including using the computer, copier, fax machine and telephone. Performs regular sweeps of all patient areas to locate rehabilitation services equipment (DME, adaptive call bells, roho cushions) and returns them to their proper location. Sets up and breaks down appropriate equipment as directed for treatment session. Ensures clean equipment for all patients and staff. Is available on pager to all therapists, and therapy assistants to provide necessary equipment at bedside as requested.
