About The Position

Overview: Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the country, with 696 beds and more than 550 full-time faculty members from The Ohio State University College of medicine. The Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology provides comprehensive care for patients at Nationwide Children’s, with a team of 12 faculty members and approximately 11,405 patient visits annually. Faculty participate in integrated clinical and educational experiences with fellows in the combined Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program. Three career pathways are available for this role: clinician-educator, research scholar and clinical excellence. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.
  • Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician, required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
  • Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the division.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
