About The Position

ENT and Allergy Associates is seeking a self-motivated, people-friendly full time Allergy Administrative Assistant/Authorization Specialist for our Cherry Hill NJ corporate office. This position is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days remote. Please note that the role may transition to full-time in-office in the future. Allergy Administrative Assistant role, provides administrative support to other medical personnel. Administrative Assistant support day-to-day operations by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service for our patients.

Requirements

  • Experience working with insurance companies
  • Knowledge of different types of coverage and policies
  • Strong computer, data entry skills
  • Empathy and compassion to give support to patients
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service skills and telephone etiquette
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Nice To Haves

  • Preference to candidates with at least one or two years working in a healthcare or billing setting.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD-10 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain, review and input insurance authorization and referrals prior to patient services
  • Monitor and track patient authorizations
  • Inform offices of status of authorizations including expired dates
  • Work with patients to educate them on their benefits information
  • Explain to patients why some services are covered and some are not
  • Help patients understand deductibles, co-insurance and copays
  • Accept, handle, and process incoming patient telephone inquiries using appropriate customer service skills, clarify and validate patient inquiries, questions or complaints
  • Enter data in the Electronic Health Records
  • Act as a liaison between the patients, physicians, insurance companies & specialty pharmacies
  • Assist office with tasks and patient calls
  • Other duties as assigned
