About The Position

Hope on Haven Hill’s mission is to support recovery and nurture the health and wellbeing of pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorder and their children by ensuring access to quality treatment and services. We believe every woman struggling with substance use disorder should have access to the treatment method that matches their needs in a setting that is safe, nurturing and inspiring. By providing a safe home with comprehensive addiction treatment services, family therapy, parenting classes, advancement in education and life coaching, we support families in their recovery from addiction. We provide gender-responsive residential, outpatient and recovery support substance use disorder services for pregnant, post-partum and parenting women in NH. We also provide recovery support housing for women and their children as well as case-coordination for women seeking resources and support on their journey to access treatment and recovery support services. Join us! The AOD Clinician will be part of our team providing a full range of therapeutic services to support women and families engaged in our programs (Residential, HIOP, IOP, OP). This role combines direct clinical care with collaboration, education, and advocacy to promote recovery, family stability, and positive client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in New Hampshire as one of the following preferred: Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MLADC) Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience providing services to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field meeting standards to earn LADC
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders and socio-economically disadvantaged clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage clients, families, and colleagues respectfully and professionally.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of: The 12 Core Functions of substance use counseling Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) in addiction treatment American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria
  • Strong proficiency in written communication, documentation, and use of computer systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service and collaborative teamwork.
  • Capacity to provide constructive input into program development, systems improvement, and process efficiencies.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality standards, including compliance with 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and HIPAA Regulations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, case reviews, and crisis interventions for program participants.
  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions tailored to women’s unique needs
  • Provide family counseling and psychoeducation as clinically indicated to strengthen family systems.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to address substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders across individual, group, and family modalities.
  • Encourage and facilitate parent engagement in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Support mothers in developing healthy parenting skills that promote resilience and stability in daily life.
  • Uphold and model respect for client rights, including privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Respond effectively and compassionately to client crises and emergency situations.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to enhance service quality and client outcomes.
  • Attend professional development workshops, trainings, and conferences
  • Contribute to program improvement by reporting findings and recommending enhancements
  • Adhere to all organizational safety policies, procedures, and risk management practices
  • Promote and participate in initiatives that ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff
