About The Position
Foundations Minnesota is seeking a Alcohol & Drug Counselor Intern to join our multidisciplinary treatment team within MN 245G and CARF standards. The position will provide on-going assessments, treatment planning, diagnostic assessments, progress reviews, continuing care planning, and individual/group counseling sessions involving recovery education while completing education requirements to obtain licensure. This is an unpaid position at our Pride Program, based in Minneapolis, MN, with a daytime schedule Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing an associaite, bachelors, or masters degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
- Knowledge, experience and/or expertise with diverse population preferred, co-occurring disorders preferred, cognitive-behavioral counseling approaches preferred, and 12 step facilitation preferred.
- Knows and understands Minnesota Statutes Chapters 245G, 260E (Child Maltreatment), and 245A, 626.557 and 626.5572 (Vulnerable Adults).
- Thorough knowledge of CARF, state and federal regulatory requirements.
