Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • LTA/HTA Commercial Pilot License, plus Instrument Rating and Multi‑Engine Rating.
  • A minimum of 1,250 hours of total flight time.
  • Familiarity with Garmin technology and glass‑cockpit systems, with experience considered a strong advantage.
  • Comfortability with exposure to outdoor weather including rain, wind, thunder, lightning, snow, heat, humidity, fog, etc. May tend to and/or fly airship in adverse conditions.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to maintain current knowledge of all FAA, Goodyear and other regulatory requirements, advisories, publications and policies as required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism, and standardization.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support forward planning of airship flight operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and well‑coordinated missions.
  • Arrange essential travel logistics, including airports and lodging to keep operations moving seamlessly.
  • Monitor weather conditions to ensure safe, accurate decision‑making during all phases of flight.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, airport staff, and passengers to maintain exceptional coordination and professionalism.
  • Achieve full proficiency flying the new Goodyear NT Airship, mastering advanced systems, vectorable propellers, thrust‑vector controls, and a state‑of‑the-art Garmin glass cockpit with EICAS.
  • Pilot the airship to maximize brand exposure, supporting public‑relations goals while maintaining strict safety and operational standards.
  • Assist in tactical operations management, including passenger flights, night sign missions, cross‑country exposure flights, televised events, test flights, and required documentation.
  • Operate the airship safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal performance and positive corporate visibility.
  • Plan, direct, operate, and administer all aspects of airship missions, including crew coordination and ground‑support oversight, all in full compliance with corporate, OSHA, and FAA requirements.
  • Engage professionally with internal teams and external partners, including vendors, media, airport management, the public, and Goodyear customers.
