About The Position

Responsible for conducting daily inspections, patrols, and surveillance to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Capital Region Airport Commission rules and regulations. Assists in ensuring airfield safety including identifying, preventing, responding to and/or removing all hazards to aviation including FOD, wildlife, AOA incursions, unauthorized vehicles and pedestrian entry, and disabled aircraft. Conducts terminal and landside facility inspections to ensure a safe, secure, efficient, clean and streamlined experience for airport customers and patrons.  Represents the organization in a positive manner, with the Airport’s best interests at the core of every decision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in airport aviation management, public administration, business administration, or gained through the equivalent work experience. Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as equivalent to one (1) year of education. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, eight (8) years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in aviation, airport operations (landside, airside, security), airport/airline security, or FBO operations. Three (3) years of experience at a certificated FAA Part 139 airport.
  • Ability to assimilate knowledge of the airport physical plant.
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and determine the proper course of action.
  • Ability to prepare effective and concise reports.
