Performs structural and mechanical preventative maintenance and repair on Airport buildings; performs directly related work as required. The principal function of an employee in this class is to keep assigned structural and mechanical systems of Airport buildings in a safe and operable condition. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Airport Building Maintenance & Structure Superintendent, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Airport employees, Airport tenants, contractors, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed both indoors and outside, often in extreme weather conditions.
