About The Position

The Airframe Repair Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting global aircraft inventory and repair operations by managing aviation repair orders from creation through completion. This position oversees repair activities with external vendors and internal teams to ensure cost-effective, on-time execution while maintaining high quality and compliance standards. The role focuses on optimizing repair costs, minimizing Beyond Economic Repair (BER) outcomes, and supporting key operational functions such as Receiving, Quality, and Accounts Payable in a fast-paced, high-volume aviation environment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience creating, managing, and closing aviation repair orders.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation MRO operations and terminology.
  • Familiarity with MRO terminology, IPCs, SBs, 8130s, and traceability requirements.
  • Proven ability to review, analyze, and approve repair vendor quotes with a cost-optimization mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate repair costs and reduce BER (Beyond Economic Repair) outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking repairs, KPIs, and vendor performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability applied to repair decisions and cost evaluations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor and internal communication.
  • Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Diligence and strong organizational skills to handle high volumes of repair orders and documentation.
  • Effective time management abilities to meet deadlines and repair commitments.
  • Initiative-taking approach and ability to excel under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
  • 3 years of aviation MRO experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in customer interaction or customer-facing roles.
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent education).

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience supporting sales-committed repair orders and coordinating drop shipments.
  • Exposure to global repair vendors and international logistics processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Accounts Payable, Receiving, and Quality Control.
  • Familiarity with digital aviation marketplaces or online inventory platforms.
  • Experience with report generation and KPI tracking for repair and vendor performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills specifically tailored to vendor management.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive issue resolution and escalation in repair operations.
  • Process improvement mindset with an interest in enhancing repair workflows and cost controls.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and close aviation repair orders from initiation through final completion.
  • Review, analyze, and approve repair vendor quotes with a strong focus on cost optimization and value.
  • Allocate piece parts strategically to reduce repair costs and minimize BER (Beyond Economic Repair) outcomes.
  • Proactively track repair status, turnaround times, and any discrepancies to ensure on-time completion.
  • Generate clear and accurate repair reports and KPI summaries for management review and decision-making.
  • Ensure repair commitments tied to sales orders are met, including coordination for sales-committed repairs and drop shipments when applicable.
  • Coordinate closely with repair vendors to maintain strong relationships and drive high levels of service and responsiveness.
  • Support the Receiving and Quality teams in resolving issues with non-conforming units and ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to address invoice inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and support timely payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair orders, documentation, certifications, and traceability in line with MRO requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding repair status, issues, and expectations.
  • Identify and escalate time-sensitive repair issues and delays, and drive resolution to minimize operational impact.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Accounts Payable, Receiving, and Quality Control to ensure seamless repair workflows.
  • Use Excel and other tools to track repairs, monitor vendor performance, and support KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance repair efficiency, cost control, and service quality.
  • Provide exceptional service to both vendors and internal customers by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests.
  • Effectively prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift quickly.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate repair options, costs, and outcomes.
  • Maintain diligence, strong organization, and accurate documentation across all repair activities.
