About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Airport Facilities Operations, manages the airport operations and maintenance activities as they apply to the airport's FAR Part 139 Certification; monitors employee training as applied to FAA policies and procedures, operation of vehicles and equipment on the airfield, safety practices, accident prevention, etc.; assists with contracting services and equipment, assists supervisors with work schedules, and provides back-up leave/timesheet approvals, as needed; collaborates with supervisors and HR staff to facilitate staffing needs and monitor performance management; serves as the airport's OSHA coordinator develops, implements, contracts services, and maintains the airport's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP), including in-the-field actions for wildlife mitigations (up to and including wildlife harassment using pyrotechnics and direct dispatching of animals as approved by the University); serves as the airport's sustainability coordinator; performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in aviation/airport operations and/or maintenance
  • Familiarity with Federal Air Regulations Parts 36, 77, 139, and 150 series Advisory Circulars
  • Ability to operate and instruct air band radio equipment in accordance with FAA/FCC regulations
  • Must obtain AAAE ACE-OPS Training Certificate within 180 days of employment
  • Must pass FAA required airport driver's training test within 60 days of employment
  • Current valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Comfortability with managing the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP), including in-the-field actions for wildlife mitigations (up to and including wildlife harassment using pyrotechnics and direct dispatching of animals as approved by the University)
