Why You'll Love Working at SAN this Summer: Location: The new Airport Authority Administration building and the terminals at San Diego International Airport near the waterfront, providing stunning views of our runway, San Diego Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the city skyline. Salary and Schedule: The Intern II salary is a competitive hourly rate of $21.00/hr. All internship positions are full-time, with standard department working hours, and require a commitment to working on-site for a 9-week program. The Airside & Terminal Operations department is seeking an enthusiastic Airfield Operations Intern II. The selected candidate will gain firsthand exposure to the fast-paced environment that keeps aircraft moving safely and efficiently every day. This internship offers a practical introduction to airport safety oversight, operational coordination, and regulatory compliance while working alongside professionals responsible for maintaining continuous airfield operations during peak travel season and ongoing construction activity. Safety, communication, and real-time decision making are key components of this role and come together to support a complex aviation ecosystem. Through this internship, you will build foundational knowledge of airport operations, regulatory compliance, and safety practices while developing adaptability, situational awareness, and professional communication skills in a live operational environment.
