About The Position

The Aircraft QC Inspector (UH-60 Technical Inspector) Inspects the repair and modification of aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Inspects removal and installation aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Performs scheduled and special inspections. Inspects and performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Inspects forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Inspects defective parts of the aircraft. Plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections, including repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, structural components and engines. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions. Participates in maintenance test-flights and operation checks as required. Ensures compliance with aircraft configuration control, oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested. Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality). Additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification of education level is required.
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license.
  • Shall have five years’ aviation maintenance experience.
  • Five years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
  • All Mechanic experience must be within the six most recent years.
  • Shall have five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Shall have at least one year’s experience inspecting MDS aircraft assigned.
  • All Inspector experience must be within the ten most recent years.
  • Back shop TI shall have at least one year’s experience on components being inspected.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed the 15-series career management field Advanced Leadership Course (formerly BNCOC), AMOC, or possess a Federal aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
  • Advanced knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
  • Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical-type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanics.
  • Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • If assigned to flight duty, shall possess a current, valid ARMY or FAA Third Class Medical Certificate and meet the qualifications in AR 95-20.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired.
  • IA (Inspection Authorization) preferred with A&P license.
