About The Position

Tyonek Services Group will augment services provided by Air Force military personnel to modify, maintain, inspect, control corrosion, overhaul, repair, regenerate and store various weapon systems, related components, missiles, engines, ground support equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Must have experience using chemicals to strip paint and primer.
  • Must have prior experience performing abrasive blasting on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Must have prior experience applying primers, topcoats, epoxy coatings, lacquer, resin, Radar Absorbent Material (RAM), Low Observable (LO) coatings, and other authorized materials using approved application methods.
  • Must have experience masking and protecting sensitive areas of the aircraft
  • Must have experience applying markings and stenciled insignia.
  • Must have prior experience inspecting aircraft and components for dents, corrosion, and other surface defects.
  • Must be able to operate equipment such as paint guns, sanders, grinders, hydro blaster, media blasting systems, plastic scrapers and other hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Must have experience in receiving work assignments and delegating assignments according to skillset and ensuring employees are certified and/or trained for assigned work.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable T1 background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical stripping of paints and primers.
  • Perform abrasive blasting on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Prepare surfaces through sanding, grinding, mechanical abrasion, and acid etching.
  • Apply primers, topcoats, epoxy coatings, lacquer, resin, Radar Absorbent Material (RAM), Low Observable (LO) coatings, and other authorized materials using approved application methods.
  • Mask and protect sensitive aircraft areas.
  • Apply markings and stenciled insignia.
  • Inspect aircraft and components for dents, corrosion, and other surface defects.
  • Operate required tools and equipment, including paint guns, sanders, grinders, hydro blasters, media blasting systems, plastic scrapers, and common hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Perform final inspections to verify coating quality and compliance with technical data.
  • Execute all duties in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives, technical orders, safety requirements, and 309 MXSG procedures.
  • Receive work assignments from Government supervision/leads and delegate to Contractor personnel according to skillset and ensure contract employees are certified and/or trained for assigned work. Provide assignment of duties no-later-than 15 minutes after the daily shift stand-up.
