About The Position

The Flight Equipment Mechanic will provide Contract Maintenance Support (CMS) as an integrated part of the Flight Equipment (Aviation Life Support System) Division’s maintenance at the Organizational and Intermediate level effort to support the unit’s flight hour/training goals. GENERAL: Possess a minimum of four (4) years Aviation experience, (U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 6048). Must be able to qualify as Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO) Utilize appropriate technical publication(s) to include: Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), specifically -13 Series Manuals and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) in the performance of all assigned maintenance actions. Working knowledge of CAD/PAD and AWIS. Identify/properly utilizes common tools, calibrated equipment, and special support equipment/tools in the performance of maintenance procedures. Observe personal safety and line precautions around aircraft and workspaces. Work will be on a government installation; therefore, you must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work, cooperate and communicate, as directed, with supervisors, team leaders and coworkers satisfactorily. Troubleshoot, and inspect ALSS/Egress system Perform maintenance in the removal, replacement, and installation of aircraft components such as CADs, Emergency Oxygen components and ALSS installed equipment. Perform Scheduled, Unscheduled, Special and Phase Maintenance inspections as directed through MRC decks. Research, interpret and comply with Technical Directive (TD) requirements for the ALSS/Egress Systems. Select candidates must be able to obtain a level of experience to become a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR).
