About The Position

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Aircraft Manager II to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Manager II is responsible for folio management of any assigned aircraft during the production and flight test phase of the assembly process until Handover to the delivery center is complete. The selected candidates will be responsible to analyze and steer all new issues found during the assembly process (non-conformities, customer findings, flightline issues, etc.). They will also be required to identify critical points, initiate action plans, and complete follow-ups until closure of issues. Join our team and watch our aircraft come to life. Your Working Environment: On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field. In lieu of degree, training as a technician in a technical field related to aviation manufacturing.
  • 5 or more years of working experience in aviation related fields.
  • 2 or more years of working experience in an Aircraft Manager role within Airbus or in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrably effective communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of the SAP system, MS office profound knowledge, supply chain and quality knowledge.
  • Ability to function as an effective member of an international team including flexibility and initiative.
  • Proven skills as a problem-solver and a record of meeting deadlines and completing tasks on time, on budget and at an acceptable level of quality
  • Have good interpersonal skills, be able to negotiate and manage conflicts of interests
  • Experience in establishing and cultivating relationships with internal and external customers
  • Citizenship Authorized to Work in the US without sponsorship

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor Aircraft Manager employees to ensure individual development under the guidance of the HO ACM team for successful and sustainable aircraft management. Support ACM team as backup for all ACM functions (Flowline, Flightline, and Cross Plant). 10%
  • Lead daily A/C review meeting and assign priorities to the whole MFT 10%
  • Function as the L2 link to feed escalations to the ACM IIIs. Ensure all escalations are properly documented in Tandem and all information is given for appropriate problem solving. 5%
  • Daily A/C Milestones follow up through Master Production Schedule 10%
  • Document, follow, organize and manage all non-conformities throughout the flowline/flightline process. Drive closure of issues in collaboration with all relevant parties to ensure production milestones are met. 15%
  • Prepare and conduct FOT meeting, ensuring on-time closure of all folio points and non-conformities. Prepare Aircraft Documentation for the Internal Quality Gates and lead meetings to ensure aircraft status is known by the receiving station. In the event of a red quality gate, ensure actions are taken and completed according to plan given. 10%
  • Create the MSN status report and send updates on an on-going basis regarding the progress of the aircraft. Perform inflow analysis (ex Non Conformities, work orders, QLB, TLB...) and new points' distribution. Guarantees that all information in "Aircraft Progress" concerning the FAL are in accordance with the physical state of the subject aircraft. 5%
  • Responsible for aircraft issue follow-up addressing progress in a proactive manner, anticipating issues, and driving resolution to avoid production risks. Generate the daily MSN Report (folio point's analysis) and highlight priority topics. 10%
  • Responsible for Working Party planning when necessary to solve major issues on aircraft. 5%
  • Record information in "Aircraft Progress" and define daily priorities with the Station Managers. 10%
  • Cooperate in national/international projects. 5%
