About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. Requirements

  • Currently serving as ACTIVE DUTY and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex aircraft inspections and audits.
  • Plan and prepare for comprehensive inspections.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection documentation.
  • Address significant non-conformities.
  • Train and mentor junior inspectors.
  • Ensure timely completion of inspection schedules.
