About The Position

The Aircraft Accessory Technician is directly responsible for the overhaul and/or repair of aircraft components.

Requirements

  • Must have a good working knowledge and remain current with the contents of the BAI RSQM as it applies to this position’s area of responsibilities.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language.
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 2 years of mechanical experience in aviation, automotive, heavy equipment, etc.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Employee must provide their own basic hand tools to perform assigned tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation structures experience.
  • 5 years of mechanical experience in aviation, automotive, heavy equipment, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary visual inspections and/or testing on all incoming aircraft components, documenting general condition (cleanliness, damage, etc.).
  • Verify that part number and serial number listed on the aircraft components match the customer’s documentation and the Berry Aviation (BAI) work order.
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning and inspection of aircraft components in accordance with the applicable component maintenance/overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and OEM technical data.
  • Document all inspection findings on the BAI work order, order all required replacement parts required to re-assemble aircraft component to a serviceable condition.
  • Perform return-to-service testing and/or adjustments of aircraft components in accordance with the applicant component maintenance/overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and OEM technical data.
  • Complete all paperwork as outlined in the BAI Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM) and forward paperwork with component to the inspection department for final inspection.
  • Observe and promote all company safety procedures as outlined in the BAI Safety Procedures Manual.
  • Ensure on-the-job training (OJT) training forms are complete for all new task assigned and performed.
  • Ensure that all repair stations tools and equipment utilized by the technician are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Where applicable, prior to utilizing tools, verify tools and equipment are within the required calibration interval. Any tool or equipment found to be out of calibration, damaged or dropped must not be used and must be immediately taken to the inspection department for disposition.
  • Ensure all assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
  • The role may not delete any assigned duties, tasks, or responsibilities.
