About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Auditor to join AECOM’s Ambient Air Monitoring (AAM) Group based in our Austin, Texas office. Do you have a strong interest in air quality and environmental science? Do you want to work alongside experienced professionals and take on field work and auditing responsibilities? This opportunity may be for you! This position is expected to begin ASAP. The successful candidate will be a part of the AAM Quality Assurance team, primarily working independently but regularly interfacing with their fellow team members, AECOM managers, clients, and contractors. You will focus on the preparation, execution, and reporting of Quality Audits of air instrumentation. As a member of the AAM Quality Assurance Team, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
  • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ambient air monitoring data and analyzers.
  • Experience with Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and chromatogram analysis.
  • Experience with instrumentation operation and repairs.
  • Environmental sampling experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for working independently and within a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Occasional lifting of air monitoring instrumentation and other ancillary equipment weight up to 50 pounds, unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work as part of a team of scientists that provide air quality monitoring services.
  • Work directly with instrumentation technicians and data validators to perform quality audits on field-deployed air measurement instrumentation.
  • Use hand and power tools to calibrate, maintain, test, and operate air monitoring instrumentation and equipment.
  • Understand and perform audit protocols.
  • Collect, organize, and prepare data for reporting.
  • Travel to air monitoring locations across the United States to conduct performance evaluation tests on air monitoring equipment.
