About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking an Air Proprietary System Architect to join the Digital Engineering team in the St. Louis, Missouri region. You will be joining a high-performing, cross-functional team responsible for developing a future-ready, state-of-the-art Digital Ecosystem. This position is contingent upon a future contract award. In this role, you will lead the design and evolution of a comprehensive digital ecosystem comprising interconnected technologies, platforms (including manned and unmanned aircraft), and services. This ecosystem facilitates seamless collaboration and data exchange among customers, industry partners, and other stakeholders, enhancing mission readiness, operational effectiveness, and driving innovation. You will architect solutions to implement the program’s data management strategy, enabling advanced data analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and streamlined collaboration. Your responsibilities include integrating high-performance computing resources, networking infrastructure, and Service Desk operations. You will translate customer requirements into optimal, balanced solutions that consider technical feasibility, schedule, and cost constraints. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with executive and senior leadership, program and enterprise architects, technical experts, and customers to ensure alignment and successful delivery. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Senior and Principal Level System Architect Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Level 5: 14+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 12+ years with a Masters OR 9+ years with a PhD
  • Level 6: 20+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 18+ years with a Masters OR 14+ years with a PhD
  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Systems Engineering “V” and all phases of its lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and systems integration between Teamcenter and Enterprise Resource Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Demonstrated strong foundational expertise in Information Technologies with subject matter expertise in at least two of the following areas: Data Center designs and solutions, including on-premises and co-location solutions Server/storage/networking / client virtualization solutions Application development and lifecycle management Software as a service Cloud technologies including external public and private cloud solutions as well as on-premises solutions Information and Cyber Security Data science, analytics, AI/ML
  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture / MSOSA
  • Experience in hardware / software integration
  • Experience with collaboration, agile planning, and DevSecOps tools (Jira, Confluence, Gitlab)

Responsibilities

  • Design and support the development and execution of the Digital Ecosystem
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to architect, design and implement complex systems
  • Lead architecture design and execution for application and data integration using model-based systems engineering methodologies
  • Assist in identifying technology roadmaps, as-is and to-be assessments, and gap analysis to mature the ecosystem to support program execution and mission effectiveness
  • Lead automation and configuration management of cross-functional workflows and processes
  • Oversee the design, implementation and operations of scalable data infrastructure, to include data curation, storage, management, integration, and analysis
  • Support network architecture and design to include supplier integration, extranet design, and implementation
