As a FIAR Analyst on these engagements, you may be aligned with supporting tasks associated with audit remediation, financial reporting, and/or data analytics. In these roles, your responsibilities could include (but not limited to): Responsibilities: Collaborate with Government PoCs to perform audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies Execute day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direct of team leads and managers Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (for example, Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers, etc) Understand the end-to-end business processes of the Department of the Air Force and applying relevant GAAP Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities Review policies, procedures, and internal controls to identify gaps and assist in drafting updates or process improvements under direction of senior team members Contribute to preparing status reports, ensuring audit trails are complete, and coordinating with stakeholders to verify that remediation steps are fully implemented and properly documented Build and maintain relationships and communicate with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, systems, and functions Draft and preparing project deliverables Perform reconciliations and other financial analyses Perform risk assessments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 and the FIAR Guidance Audit Remediation: Analyze audit findings, validate corrective-action plans, identify root-cause issues, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all remediation steps are fully implemented and properly documented Financial Reporting: Develop sections of the Agency Financial Report (AFR), support other federal financial‑reporting requirements, and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial statements and disclosures Data Analytics: Lead the design and execution of data driven solutions to improve financial management performance Develop dashboards, predictive models, and trend analyses to support decision making, identify risks, and optimize resource allocation Ensure data integrity, interprets complex datasets, and translates insights into actionable recommendations for leadership Across all areas, analysts will manage progress reporting, set priorities, and mentor staff to enhance organizational performance, improve financial management practices, and maintain strong governance standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years of accounting and/or audit experience
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting
  • Willingness to obtain Relevant Certifications: CPA (or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), or other relevant certification
  • Must have (or the ability to obtain) a DoD Secret clearance (requires US citizenship)

Responsibilities
