Overview Assist the Air Emission Test Lead (AETL) with Air Emissions Compliance and Engineering Testing and Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) on Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) at LG&E and KU Energy Generating Stations. Study regulations and learn the procedures for probe insertion and traverse, sampling systems, moisture measurement, sample recovery, equipment maintenance, and proper storage and inventory. Requirements

Associate's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science or High School and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Required to certify under DOT Medical Card requirements.
Must be able to work in elevated locations and/or confined spaces
Requires DOT medical card or certification

Nice To Haves

Background in air pollution chemistry preferred.
Knowledge of USEPA air emission test methods and procedures, and CEMS monitors and equipment.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety regulations are observed and all emission testing personnel (including contractors) are aware of hazards. Report all unsafe conditions to plant manager or his designate.
Study regulations and procedures required for USEPA emission testing, CEMS audits, and AETBs.
Keep all test equipment certified, calibrated and up to date.
Perform all required maintenance and annual calibration procedures on emission test equipment.
Conduct all air emissions testing in accordance with USEPA Reference Methods, LG&E and KU AETB Quality Manual, associated Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures, and other regulatory agency approved procedures.
Safely mobilize equipment to each test site.
Assist in emission data analysis and regulatory report preparation.
All other duties and projects as assigned.
