About The Position

The AIG Instructor/Tutor is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who have been identified as potentially academically gifted. This part-time role involves developing and implementing challenging, enriching learning experiences intended to nurture potentially gifted students. The instructor/tutor will foster an environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and NC Educator License, required
• Strong understanding of the characteristics and needs of gifted learners.
• Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction and enrichment activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Nice To Haves

• AIG Licensure, preferred

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate activities, projects, and lessons that promote intellectual growth and creativity.
• Implement a curriculum that challenges student thinking while aligning with educational standards.
• Works collaboratively with the Elementary AIG specialist, building-level administrators and classroom teachers to ensure that instruction addresses individual learning needs
• Shares responsibility for ensuring that students are safe at all times
• Follows emergency procedures consistent with the district Crisis Response and Emergency Evacuation Plans
• Maintains confidentiality of student records and concerns
• Participates in assigned training and workshops
• Practices and maintains staff-student relationships which foster respect for staff and contribute to the positive self-esteem of the students
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administration
