Job SummaryThe Full-Time Preschool Aide supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment specifically for infants and toddlers. This position focuses on the daily care and development of our youngest learners, assisting with age-appropriate activities, supervision, feeding, diapering, and maintaining a structured yet loving classroom routine. The Preschool Aide helps foster each child’s spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in alignment with Catholic values, ensuring that infants and toddlers receive attentive, compassionate care during these critical early developmental stages. 

Requirements

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children strongly preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Ability to collaborate, take direction, and maintain confidentiality.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily classroom routines, activities, and transitions.
  • Support the teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and faith-based activities.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, diapering/toileting, and transitions.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Provide attentive care to meet the physical and emotional needs of infants and toddlers, including feeding and comforting as needed.
  • Encourage positive social interactions, respectful behavior, and Christian values among students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
  • Uphold and model Catholic teachings in word and action.
  • Ensure compliance with school safety protocols and diocesan Safe Environment policies.
