About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The After-Care/Extended Day Aide provides supervision, support, and enrichment for students enrolled in the school or program’s extended day services. This role ensures a safe, positive, and engaging environment during after-school hours through structured activities, homework support, and consistent behavioral expectations.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting preferred.
Ability to manage groups of children and maintain a positive environment.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain active supervision of students at all times.
Ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment for indoor and outdoor activities.
Follow all safety, emergency, and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
Address minor conflicts using constructive, positive guidance.
Assist in planning and leading age-appropriate activities (arts, games, crafts, outdoor play, etc.).
Support students with homework or quiet study time as needed.
Prepare and distribute snacks following program guidelines.
Help set up and clean up program spaces before and after activities.
Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
Report behavioral or safety concerns to the program coordinator promptly.
Work cooperatively with team members to maintain a supportive and consistent environment.
Assist with attendance tracking, parent pick-up verification, and program documentation.
Follow all program policies, confidentiality guidelines, and mandated reporting requirements.
