About The Position

Marketing Innovation is a product engineering team embedded within OpenAI's Demand Generation and Marketing organization. We build frontier AI-native products and workflows that improve the quality, speed, and impact of our marketing team. We work across product, engineering, marketing, and applied AI to build systems that power customer engagement, content generation, lifecycle marketing, and revenue programs. We focus on problems that go beyond traditional tools or low-code automation, especially where strong product design, deep integration, or frontier AI capabilities are required. We are looking for an AI Workflow Engineer to help build AI-native products and workflows for OpenAI's marketing organization. In this role, you will work closely with marketing and go-to-market teams to identify where AI can amplify the craft and effectiveness of our work. You will design systems that combine agents and human operators, prototype new workflows, and help teams identify and adopt frontier capabilities through hands-on training, pair programming, and direct collaboration with operators. You will help turn OpenAI's platform capabilities into practical tools and workflows teams can use daily. Your work will establish the patterns, guardrails, and reusable systems that enable AI to operate safely and effectively across OpenAI's marketing organization.

Requirements

  • are excited about applying frontier AI capabilities to real business and creative problems
  • have a strong product mindset and enjoy listening, scoping problems, prioritizing work, defining milestones, and driving projects end to end
  • are comfortable working in ambiguity and turning loosely defined opportunities into working systems
  • have experience building systems integrations, automation platforms, internal tools, or technical workflows
  • can translate business needs into technical solutions and clearly explain technical tradeoffs to cross-functional partners
  • enjoy working closely with operators and shipping practical systems quickly
  • have familiarity with marketing or GTM systems (CRM, lifecycle tooling, analytics, creative tooling, or campaign infrastructure), or are excited to learn
  • have experimented with AI-native development tools such as Codex or similar coding agents, and are excited about new ways of building software with AI
  • 5+ years building systems integrations, automation workflows, internal tools, or product systems
  • experience working with APIs, automation frameworks, or lightweight scripting environments
  • experience deploying systems used by operators in production environments

Responsibilities

  • identify opportunities where AI can improve the quality, speed, scale, and effectiveness of marketing and GTM programs
  • scope ambiguous problems, prioritize opportunities, and drive execution from prototype to production
  • design and deploy workflows that combine agents, tools, and human review in production environments
  • rapidly prototype and ship using automation platforms, our API platform, and Codex
  • build and maintain a small set of centrally managed "golden workflows" that support critical marketing and lifecycle programs
  • develop reusable templates, tooling, and documentation that allow teams to safely self-serve over time
  • help operators adopt frontier capabilities through hands-on training, pair programming, and direct collaboration
