About The Position

Treewalk is a full-service accounting firm that serves a diverse client base including public companies, private enterprises, First Nations, and government entities. The firm is building a dedicated AI and automation practice to help clients modernize their financial and operational processes through smart, practical technology. This AI Solutions Manager role is a driving force behind this growing service line. It is primarily a client-facing position, involving leading billable AI and automation projects from scoping through delivery. The manager will work directly with clients to understand challenges, design solutions, manage the project lifecycle, and ensure effective tool and process implementation. Beyond client work, the role also involves shaping Treewalk's internal adoption of AI, including evaluating tools, managing vendor relationships, and building internal capabilities. The position reports directly to senior leadership and requires close collaboration with accounting and client services teams. It is suited for someone comfortable with client meetings, workflow problem-solving, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and with tangible results.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in technology implementation, process improvement, or a client-facing consulting role — ideally within professional services or an accounting/finance environment.
• Proven project management skills: you know how to build a plan, communicate timelines, flag risks early, manage resources, and keep multiple stakeholders aligned across concurrent projects.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and deploying AI or automation tools in a business context.
• Confident, polished client communication skills — you're comfortable leading meetings, presenting to executives, and managing expectations when things get complicated.
• Comfort working in an accounting and finance context — you don't need to be a CPA, but you need to understand how a firm like ours operates and what matters to our clients.
• Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance considerations in professional services.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar is a strong asset — personal or hobby use counts.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms is a strong asset.
• PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead billable client engagements focused on AI and automation, working directly with clients to identify inefficiencies, design solutions, and implement tools that improve their financial and operational workflows.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and project lead for client AI engagements — managing scope, timelines, deliverables, and client relationships throughout.
• Conduct discovery sessions and process assessments with clients to understand their systems, pain points, and goals before recommending solutions.
• Present findings, project plans, and progress updates to client stakeholders clearly and confidently, including executives and non-technical decision-makers.
• Own the full project lifecycle for AI implementations — from initial scoping and planning through execution, handoff, and post-implementation review.
• Build and maintain detailed project plans with clearly defined milestones, resource requirements, and timelines; proactively identify and communicate risks before they become issues.
• Manage and lead a team of staff supporting AI and automation engagements — setting clear expectations, allocating work effectively, and maintaining accountability across active projects.
• Coordinate internal team members, external vendors, and client stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple active engagements, making smart calls about sequencing, resourcing, and escalation.
• Maintain thorough project documentation throughout each engagement, ensuring a clear record of decisions, progress, and outcomes.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of AI tools that support both client engagements and the firm's internal operations, with a focus on automation, compliance, financial reporting, and client management.
• Manage relationships with AI vendors and technology partners, holding them accountable to performance and reliability standards.
• Ensure all solutions integrate effectively with existing systems, particularly QuickBooks and other core platforms used by clients and the firm.
• Stay current on emerging AI technology and proactively bring forward recommendations that could benefit clients or the business.
• Identify opportunities to streamline Treewalk's internal processes using AI — including data entry automation, reconciliation, and financial reporting workflows.
• Lead efforts to standardize how AI tools are adopted and used across the firm, ensuring consistent and measurable impact.
• Design and deliver training for both client teams and internal staff, ensuring effective adoption of every tool deployed.
• Coach and mentor junior staff on AI tools, project workflows, and client engagement best practices — helping build the team’s capability as the practice grows.
• Serve as the firm's primary internal resource for AI-related questions, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
• Establish KPIs for each client engagement and internal initiative, and deliver regular performance reports to both clients and senior leadership.
• Continuously assess tools in use and recommend improvements or adjustments to enhance their impact.
