Job Description The AI Prompt Specialist serves as a technology expert supporting functional applications and business line initiatives. This role provides direction for project releases, including research, analysis, development, implementation, and ongoing system support. The position acts as a liaison between technical teams and business partners, ensuring alignment with strategy, requirements, and operational objectives. The individual will compile, evaluate, and interpret detailed information to recommend solutions that improve system performance or business processes. This role works closely with internal and external partners to ensure the successful completion, installation, and implementation of new or enhanced systems in accordance with business needs. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working in gray areas, troubleshooting undefined problems, and thinking creatively. The group is pushing toward automation and actively exploring AI-driven problem solving. You’ll participate in shaping how WCIBO uses automation and AI to work smarter and faster—not just inherit processes but help invent them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of direct experience (with project lead experience), or five to eight years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, Azure services, and AI/ML fundamentals
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript; experience with AI SDKs and REST APIs
  • Exposure to LLM integration, prompt engineering, and retrieval‑based AI systems
  • Knowledge of SQL, vector databases, and working with structured/unstructured data
  • Experience with Git and version control systems
  • Ability to work as part of a project team, with leadership and negotiation skills
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast‑paced AI and cloud environment
  • This role requires working from a U.S Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
  • Must reside near or in Milwaukee, WI and Saint Paul, MN

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for assigned applications, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
  • Perform detailed research and analysis to support system enhancements and project releases.
  • Collaborate with business lines to understand requirements and recommend technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure smooth delivery and implementation of systems.
  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of AI‑driven, cloud‑native applications using Azure AI services.
  • Utilize tools such as: Azure OpenAI Service for Large Language Models (LLMs) Azure Cognitive Search for Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures Azure Machine Learning for model training and deployment Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps for application orchestration
  • Integrate LLMs into enterprise workflows with senior developers and architects, ensuring scalability, security, and responsible AI alignment.
  • Participate in prompt engineering, model fine‑tuning, and retrieval optimization to improve accuracy and relevance.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor AI models and application health, addressing performance, compliance, and operational reliability.
  • Document AI architectures, RAG workflows, and best practices; contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
