About The Position

Lakepointe Church is seeking an innovative, ministry-minded Al Developer to implement Al solutions that empower our staff and ministries to serve more efficiently, think more strategically, and scale their efforts across multiple campuses. This role is not just about cutting-edge tech-it's about applying artificial intelligence with spiritual intentionality. You will work cross-functionally to identify pain points, streamline workflows, and deliver tools that elevate ministry impact. This person will report directly to the Lead Pastor of Operations but work closely with the Directional Leadership Team to align technical capabilities with ministry goals. You'll be the bridge between Al and real-life ministry effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Al/ML technologies, automation, or systems integration
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Zapier, Make.com, OpenAI, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or AWS
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, APls, and NLP (you should know your GPTs from your OCRs)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a servant-leader mindset
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas in clear, non-technical language
  • Deep alignment with the mission and values of Lakepointe Church

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a church, nonprofit, or multi-campus environment
  • Familiarity with Rock RMS or other church management systems
  • Experience building chatbots or virtual assistants
  • Understanding of change management and staff training

Responsibilities

  • Deploy practical AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Al tools) to support departments like communications, people operations, kids ministry, worship, and guest follow-up.
  • Build custom automations using APls, machine learning models, and natural language processing (NLP) to reduce manual tasks and arrive at better decisions.
  • Educate staff (technical and non-technical) on how to leverage Al responsibly and effectively in their roles.
  • Host workshops, create internal documentation, and develop training pathways for ongoing Al adoption.
  • Partner with campus pastors, ministry leads, and directors to identify repetitive, inefficient, or error-prone tasks and reimagine them through AIdriven solutions.
  • Help ministries scale outreach, follow-up, content creation, data analysis, and decision-making with smart automation.
  • Ensure that Al tools are deployed in alignment with church values and privacy standards.
  • Promote transparency, fairness, and Biblical wisdom in how technology is applied.
