About The Position

Pond is seeking a Mid-Senior AI Engineer to design and deploy AI-enabled applications that support our technical and business operations. This role focuses on integrating modern AI capabilities into enterprise systems and building scalable solutions that enhance knowledge access, digital workflows, and operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering experience with practical experience deploying AI technologies in complex production environments. Experience working within architecture, engineering, or related technical industries is highly valued.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or C#, alongside extensive experience integrating internal and external APIs.
• Proven track record of deploying AI capabilities (specifically LLM APIs) into scalable production systems, not just local environments.
• Deep understanding of highly scalable application architectures, system reliability, and secure design.
• Exceptional ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and turn business needs into concrete engineering plans.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), or other technically complex industries.
• Hands-on experience implementing enterprise RAG systems, multi-agent workflows, or managing multiple complex data sources.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data governance, security protocols, and compliance constraints specific to AI.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Deploy: Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled applications within an enterprise environment.
• Integrate: Connect large language model (LLM) APIs and related AI services into internal platforms, workflows, and tools.
• Build RAG Systems: Develop and optimize robust retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems leveraging structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Problem Solve: Translate complex business and technical requirements from cross-functional stakeholders into practical, reliable AI-driven solutions.
• Govern & Scale: Ensure all AI implementations meet strict governance, data integrity, compliance, and performance standards.
• Collaborate: Partner directly with operational leaders, software engineers, and domain experts (AEC) to advance Pond’s enterprise AI roadmap.
