About The Position

The AI-Based Customer Segmentation Intern will support a data-driven initiative focused on improving account prioritization and Sales and Marketing alignment through customer segmentation. This internship offers hands-on experience applying analytics and machine learning concepts—specifically clustering techniques such as K-means—to real Salesforce CRM data. The role is designed as a practical, low-risk entry point into responsible AI adoption, account-based marketing (ABM), and CRM strategy, while delivering meaningful insights that inform commercial decision-making. This opportunity is well suited for a student interested in how data can be translated into clear business actions, who is eager to build strong analytical foundations while collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret CRM and sales funnel data
  • Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets for data cleanup, rollups, and quality checks
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python or MATLAB; SQL experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with basic segmentation and clustering concepts through coursework or academic projects
  • Ability to critically evaluate analytical outputs and recognize limitations driven by data quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings for non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and incorporating feedback from Sales and Marketing partners
  • Structured, detail-oriented thinker with strong documentation habits
  • Sound judgment and discretion when working with customer and sales data
  • Proactive, curious, and resilient when navigating ambiguity and imperfect datasets

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Salesforce Account, Contact, and Opportunity data to identify meaningful customer and account segments
  • Develop engagement cohorts using clustering and segmentation techniques and translate results into clear business categories (e.g., high priority, nurture, reactivation)
  • Interpret analytical outputs in plain language and connect findings to recommended Sales and Marketing actions
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to review results, gather feedback, and validate business usefulness
  • Identify and document data quality and integrity gaps that limit segmentation accuracy
  • Produce leadership-ready deliverables, including summary presentations and written documentation
  • Contribute to a repeatable, well-documented segmentation framework that can evolve as data quality improves
  • Support responsible AI adoption by emphasizing transparency, governance, and human judgment in analytical recommendations
