About The Position

The Agile Scrum Master supports planned application development projects for the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) by ensuring consistent and effective application of Agile and Scrum practices. This role provides senior -level facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership to help Scrum teams operate efficiently within complex and diverse technical environments. The Scrum Master works closely with product owners, development teams, stakeholders, and IT leadership to promote transparency, collaboration, and delivery discipline. The position focuses on removing impediments, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement to ensure delivery commitments are met. Success in this role requires adaptability, proactive coordination, and a strong command of Agile frameworks aligned to organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • 8 years of demonstrated expertise in Scrum and Kanban, including coaching teams on Agile principles and implementation.
  • 8 years of experience facilitating all Scrum ceremonies across multiple teams or large projects.
  • 8 years of experience working with Product Owners, technical leads, senior IT stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • 8 years of experience tracking and applying team performance metrics (e.g., velocity, burn -downs) to drive delivery improvements.
  • 8 years of experience fostering collaborative, self -organizing, and high -trust Agile teams.
  • 8 years of excellent verbal and written communication skills for guidance, reporting, and documentation.
  • 5 years of proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • 5 years of holding a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience working on public -sector IT projects, particularly large -scale public -facing systems.
  • 5 years of experience coaching Product Owners on Agile roles, backlog creation, refinement, prioritization, and user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Scrum processes, ceremonies, and Agile practices are consistently followed across assigned teams.
  • Lead and coordinate Agile ceremonies including daily stand -ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release planning.
  • Provide senior -level coaching to Scrum teams on Agile values, principles, and practices to improve maturity and performance.
  • Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments that impact team progress and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure backlog items are well -defined, prioritized, and sprint commitments are realistic.
  • Facilitate coordination among Scrum teams, technical leads, stakeholders, and IT leadership.
  • Track and apply Agile metrics such as velocity and burn -downs to support transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain open communication with business owners, sponsors, and leadership to report progress and resolve issues.
  • Advocate for Agile best practices and guide organizational improvements to workflows and delivery processes.
