About the role of Agile Product Owner II Are you a highly motivated and self-driven person who’s ready to start their career in product management? Then, this Product Owner II position may be the right opportunity for you. As a Product Owner II, you will act as the voice of the customer within the Agile delivery team. You will elicit and document business requirements in the form of epics, features, PBI’s, user stories and use cases. As a Product Advocate, you will create, maintain, and outline work in the product backlog, determining which work items will produce the most business value and prioritizing those deliverables. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners to help ensure stakeholder buy-in and analysis of customer problems. The ideal candidate for this Product Owner II role, has experience in software engineering or data analysis and is enthusiastic about moving into data product management. By leveraging your solid technical background, we will help you develop your skills as a Product Owner in conjunction with the use of AI. Candidates who have expertise in EDI, HIPAA, RTPM, Edifecs, Boomi, Databricks, MongoDB, or Kafka are preferred. This is a hybrid role, located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent. (Required)
Two (2) years of business systems analysis experience. (Required)
Experience in a software development environment with Agile development practices, including Scrum and SAFe.
Customer-focused, with demonstrated ability to understand and prioritize work according to the strategic impact/value and achieve concrete results.
Demonstrates accountability and delivering results within a self-organized team environment.
Understanding of business and product strategies within aligned domain; clearly explains them to the Agile team.
Possesses strong partnership with business and IT stakeholders.
Aligns to established quality expectations and incorporates functional and non-functional quality measures into requirements; ability to define and lead user acceptance testing process.
Promotes teamwork; works well as a member of a team as well as successfully facilitating collaboration within the Agile team.
Experience defining product and solutions; working knowledge of analytical tools, relational databases, and software applications; proven ability to analyze data and business processes.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences, including inside and outside the department.
Makes well-informed tactical-level decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, demonstrated ability to proactively prevent problems from occurring and work issues to resolution.
Strong facilitation skills; ability to facilitate medium to large group discussions to achieve defined outcomes.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Agile delivery models. (Preferred)
Experience using SQL for data analysis. (Preferred)
Knowledge of the healthcare or health insurance industry. (Preferred)
Knowledge of product development tools including Azure DevOps Services, Visual Studio, Confluence, and Product Plan. (Preferred)
Experience with APIs, FHIR, Kafka, Mongo, Databricks, Boomi, RTPM, Edifecs, EDI and HIPAA. (Preferred)
Proficiency with Copilot for content generation. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Act as the voice of the customer to the Agile team.
Understand the business and product strategies represent them to the Agile team.
Facilitate the relationship with business partners and user community, bringing their voice to the Agile team.
Become a business and product expert with deep domain knowledge.
Act as a liaison with business stakeholders by planning, conducting, and leading analysis efforts for new product implementations.
Lead Agile team backlog refinement sessions to identify scope of work.
Collaborate with Product Managers and other Product Owners to develop a roadmap of features and user stories.
Collaborate with business partners, IT partners, and Agile teams to develop clear and concise measurable outcomes and business value; identify, define, write, and refine business requirements in the form of features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Actively collaborate with the Agile team through solution design and development.
Manage user acceptance testing.
Approve and accept business user stories, enablers, and tech debt product backlog items (PBIs).
Facilitate product and release demo, taking accountability for feedback and outcomes.
Clearly communicate release content and value to business partners.
Prioritize issues and collaborate to make decisions required to resolve them weighing the pros/cons, risks, and dependencies.
Leverage data to guide product strategy.
May lead or guide user acceptance testing with end users.
Build, own, maintain, prioritize, optimize, and sequence the integrated team PBI backlog in collaboration with engineers and other stakeholders.
Prioritize backlog of user stories in alignment with product roadmap.
Collaborate with the Agile team on a regular cadence to refine the backlog.
Collaborate with the Agile team to identify dependencies on other teams.
Coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners in preparation for program increment planning.
Identify ways to improve processes and accelerate value to our customers.
Identify ways to continually improve quality standards.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
