EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Agile Product Owner. The Senior Agile Product Owner (APO) is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management of EmpiRx Health’s data platform and data engineering initiatives. This role serves as the primary bridge between business, clinical, and technical teams, translating complex requirements into scalable, high-quality data products. The APO owns backlog prioritization, drives value realization, and ensures that data assets are promoted, governed, and delivered in alignment with enterprise goals. This position plays a critical role in enabling self-service analytics, executive reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (8+ years).
  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably within healthcare, PBM, or a related regulated industry.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting Data Engineering, Databricks, or lakehouse-based data platforms.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional agile initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Strong technical literacy, including working knowledge of SQL, APIs, data integrations, and platform-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data governance and compliance requirements, including HIPAA.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile or product certifications (CSPO, SAFe, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Domo, Power BI, or similar analytics and delivery tools.
  • Prior experience defining enterprise data products or self-service analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the roadmap for the enterprise data platform, including promotion of data across the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within Databricks.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure data pipelines are scalable, performant, reliable, and aligned with downstream reporting and analytics needs.
  • Define and operationalize a “Data as a Product” vision, ensuring Gold-layer datasets are curated, documented, and optimized for self-service analytics and executive dashboards.
  • Ensure data products align with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and security requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between non-technical business stakeholders and highly technical Data Engineering, Architecture, and DevOps teams.
  • Translate clinical, financial, and operational requirements into clear technical specifications, including data models, transformation logic, and API requirements.
  • Facilitate alignment across product, engineering, analytics, and operations to ensure shared understanding of scope, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Own and manage strategic backlog prioritization across multiple complex systems and platforms.
  • Translate enterprise-level objectives into actionable epics, features, and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a senior leader within cross-functional agile teams, supporting sprint planning, backlog refinement, dependency management, and release planning.
  • Lead advanced agile ceremonies and contribute to enterprise-wide technical and delivery discussions.
  • Define KPIs and value-realization frameworks to measure delivery outcomes and business impact.
  • Use data and insights to assess performance, identify trade-offs, and make informed prioritization decisions.
  • Identify delivery risks and process inefficiencies; champion improvements that increase agility, predictability, and data quality.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and agile maturity across delivery teams.
