About The Position

The Training Manager is responsible for coordinating training courses for water and wastewater utility personnel and will manage other supporting projects as needed within the training program. Assists with program management of the financial status, new projects, and program initiatives. Duties will include managing schedules and logistics, observing instructional skills of staff, mentoring instructional staff, and ensuring backup Instructors are available if needed. Serves as the subject matter specialist for curriculum development. Recruit instructors and monitor their performance. This position will report to the Program Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years’ experience in management, operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
  • Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree and seven years of experience and a high school diploma or GED and nine years of experience.
  • Must also have all required licenses/certifications.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Texas Class "B" Water license or equivalent and/or Texas Class "B" Wastewater license or equivalent
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 level courses within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of ICS 300 and 400 level courses within 6 months of hire.
  • TCEQ Sponsor Requirements within 1 Year of Hire
  • One year of experience training adults, and 60 hours of classroom instructional experience or completion of two of the following approved instructor training courses: One of these: Effective Instructional Techniques (teex.org/class/WWW550/) Methods of Teaching (offered by various training providers) AND One of these: Instructional Design and Evaluation (teex.org/class/WWW560) Organization and Use of Training Materials (offered by various training providers)
