The Agency Sales Specialist will support an assigned group of agents. This position will provide primary agency support to promote production, retention, and profitability. Additionally, they will assist in agent on boarding, virtual training, regular and ad hoc reporting, and serve as the assigned agent’s main point of contact. This role will be responsible for building agent relationships and promoting Builders Mutual. This opportunity can be based remote in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, and Georgia. The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve. This remote role will allow you to do your best work from your home office, collaborating virtually with your team daily. You will travel to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times a year. Your WORK as an Agency Sales Specialist will make a difference by:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of sales or marketing experience. Insurance license or designation is desired
  • Strong knowledge of general business and insurance principles, including solid understanding of policy language and underwriting guidelines
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, with strong customer focus
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Power BI)
  • Ability to communicate change, display managerial courage, and deal with ambiguity is critical to the candidate’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Educate agents on Builders Mutual products, services, eligibility guidelines and pricing philosophy
  • Monitor and improve assigned agents’ performance including production, quality of submitted accounts, premium growth, loss ratio, submission activity, hit ratio, etc.
  • Partner with underwriting to manage agency profitability, including implementation of action plans for underperforming agencies
  • Enhance relationships by developing, managing, and maintaining business partnerships with appointed agents and producers
  • Maintain information on key competitors in the territory
  • Partner with State Territory Manager annual planning
  • Develop and supply regular reports on book of business, trends, etc.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the agency and the company
  • Respond to agency inquiries and lead resolution of problems
