About The Position

BASIC FUNCTION: Develops new business and expands existing relationships. Calls on potential customers, identifies credit needs, secures financial data for analysis, and makes proposals for new business. Makes sales calls to achieve Association-established goals. Maintains knowledge of Association products and services as well as knowledge of the industries in the market area served. Explains loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects. Maintains effective supervision of loans through sound loan administration to ensure Association position. Seeks a high level of visibility to the target lending market within the assigned territory. Markets the Association by being a source of referrals for the other lending segments of the Association. Promotes financially related services to all current and prospective members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Ag Economics, Agriculture, Finance, or a related field
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of farm management and agricultural finance.
  • Must have the ability to read documents from many sources.
  • Must be able to communicate audibly in and with staff, customers, and the general public.

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures, and credit practices in the Farm Credit System and the Association

Responsibilities

  • Develops new business and expands existing relationships. Calls on potential customers, identifies credit needs, secures financial data for analysis, and makes proposals for new business. Makes sales calls to achieve individually established goals. Maintains knowledge of association products and services as well as knowledge of the industries and market area served. Explains loan options, rates, loan fees, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects. Makes credit decisions on loans under delegated authority. Recommends actions beyond delegated authorities. Works with the Sales Manager to remain within the marketing budget.
  • Ensures loans are originated and administered in a sound, constructive manner and in accordance with Farm Credit System and Association regulations. All loan actions are adequately evaluated in terms of eligibility and scope, ability to repay as well as any other risk factors. The accuracy and source of facts utilized to arrive at the loan decision are appropriately explained and documented. Maintains effective supervision of loans to ensure the Association’s position. Monitors customer financial situation, loan performance, and repayment process. Takes appropriate corrective action as necessary. Average pricing for all loans should yield the maximum gross profit achievable, taking into consideration the market conditions/characteristics for their respective areas.
  • Develops a marketing strategy to ensure multiple PR and Community Events are attended and utilized for networking opportunities to result in more exposure for the Association. Loan closings are consistently increasing throughout the year. Takes action to become 1% better through professional development.
